Highlights include art exhibits at Lander University, musical performances by Gangstagrass and The Ukulele Orchestra of Great Britain, and community activities like the Ales for Trails 5k and Beer Tasting. While enjoying these festivities, it’s important to stay informed about the weather outlook, which includes potential stormy conditions. Whether you’re an art lover or a fan of live performances, there’s something for everyone this week!
Hey there, Upstate South Carolina! As we gear up for a beautiful week ahead, let’s dive into what’s happening around town. Bring your friends and family, as there are quite a few events that promise fun and excitement!
First, let’s talk about the weather. Today, we’re enjoying some lovely sunny to partly cloudy skies with a high around 75°F. Perfect weather to catch some sun! If you’re heading out, just be mindful of those gusty winds, blowing in from the west at 10 to 20 mph.
As the evening rolls in, expect the skies to change a bit. Tonight’s forecast is partly cloudy, but it will get overcast overnight with a low dipping to around 45°F. Gentle winds will shift to the northeast at 5 to 10 mph.
However, be aware that there is a hazardous weather outlook in effect for our region. Due to some impending stormy weather, especially in northeast Georgia and western North Carolina, we’ve got an advisory out until 7 p.m. today. Expect winds to pick up significantly—think 15 to 25 mph with gusts that could reach up to 50 mph during thunderstorms! This might lead to potential power outages and could make driving a little tricky, so plan your travels accordingly.
Don’t let the weather hold you back from the exciting events around us! Here are some fantastic cultural happenings this week:
If you’re an art enthusiast, swing by the Lander University Art Gallery to check out the Student Juried Exhibit. It’s on display now through March 19, 2025. It’s a perfect way to support emerging artists! For more details, feel free to reach out at 864-388-8810.
