Sunny Skies Predicted for Greenwood as Community Gears Up for Annual “Rally 4 Recovery”

Greenwood, SC – Sept. 22, 2024

The weather is looking absolutely splendid for Greenwood, South Carolina, this coming Sunday. Residents can expect to start their day with clear, sunny skies and only a few afternoon clouds. It’s going to be a hot one, with temperatures reaching up to 93°F. But don’t worry, the winds will be light and variable, making it bearable, especially in the shade.

In the evening, a few clouds will roll in, but nothing too concerning. The temperatures are set to drop to a comfortable 67°F, perfect for some light outdoor evening activities or just relaxing outside with family and friends.

Greenwood Abbeville Coalition Hosts 4th Annual “Rally 4 Recovery”

Amidst this beautiful weather, the Greenwood Abbeville Coalition (GAC) is all set to bring the community together for the 4th annual “Rally 4 Recovery”. This event, which aims to promote awareness and support for recovery activities, will be a family-friendly gathering that anyone can join.

The rally kicks off at Uptown Market located at 220 Maxwell Ave. at 3 p.m., Sunday, Sept. 29. Attendees are encouraged to bring along their own pro-recovery or anti-stigma posters. If you don’t have one, no problem—supplies to make posters will be available on-site.

After a brief opening program, rally participants will take to the streets for a walk through Uptown Greenwood, heading towards the iconic fountain. Here, a short rally will be held to further inspire and motivate the community. After this, everyone will head back to the Uptown Market to wrap up the event.

Teresa Roy, one of the organizers, shared her excitement and emphasized the importance of this rally. “Make plans now to join us for this family-friendly event and send the message that Greenwood and Abbeville counties believe in Recovery,” she said.
