Greetings from Greenwood, SC! There’s some fantastic news buzzing through our community, especially for those interested in healthcare and service development. The Self Regional Healthcare Foundation Board of Trustees has proudly welcomed four new members who are set to make an impactful difference. Let’s get to know these dedicated individuals and explore how they plan to enhance the healthcare services in the Greenwood and Lakelands region.
Dr. Bryan Green is a name that might ring a bell for some. Having been a Greenwood resident for over 20 years, Dr. Green is a passionate physician at the Digestive Disease Group and also serves as the President of the South Carolina Gastroenterology Foundation. What exceptional credentials! We’re keen to see his expertise in action as he contributes to the Foundation’s mission.
Next, we have Denise Manley, another familiar face in the community. As a lifelong Greenwood resident, she’s the owner of Mary Frances Limited and Sweet Teas Children’s Boutique. Denise brings a heap of local insight and dedication to the table, also wearing hats on the Foundation’s Special Gifts Committee, the Greenwood Promise Board, and the Greater Greenwood Clemson Club Board. She’s truly a local powerhouse.
Moving on to Dr. Joanna Sadurski, the Director of Medical Oncology at Self Regional Healthcare. With her board certifications in ABIM Hematology and Medical Oncology, she offers invaluable medical acumen. She also leverages her experience by precepting at the PA Program at Presbyterian College. Her connections to academic and teaching institutions underscore her dedication to medical education and innovation.
The final new member is Lynn Vaughn, who has called Greenwood her home for 33 years. She serves as a Registered Nurse at Cedar Rock Plastic Surgery and holds the position of Board Secretary for Hospice and Palliative Care of the Piedmont. Lynn’s nursing background and service in hospice care emphasize her commitment to providing compassionate care and support.
As these new trustees jump into action, they’re replacing some familiar longstanding members. Outgoing trustees, John Davidson, Erin Layland, Dr. Tom Pritchard, and Walter Roark, have left big shoes to fill, and the community expresses heartfelt gratitude for their contributions. In addition, the board has reappointed John Cooper as Chair, Glenda Corley as Vice-Chair, Chris Clem as Treasurer, and Chuck Rimsky as Secretary, ensuring a seamless transition
Ken Coffey, the Foundation’s Executive Director, expressed his gratitude and enthusiasm: “We are incredibly thankful for the outstanding service of our outgoing board members and are excited to collaborate with the newest members of our board.” This phase marks a promising chapter in the Foundation’s evolving narrative.
The Self Regional Healthcare Foundation isn’t just about titles and roles. It’s about a group of driven individuals coming together to uplift healthcare services, advocate for healthcare education, and make tangible developments in the Lakelands region. At its core, it’s all about fostering a stronger, healthier community through charitable efforts.
So, folks, if you see any of these trustees around town, do take a moment to say hello and thank them for their commitment to our well-being. They’re here not only as professionals but as your neighbors and friends, ensuring that healthcare services in our region continue to flourish. If you’re interested in learning more about these developments, you can reach out to the Self Regional Healthcare Foundation.
