Macau Unveils “Love Between Fairy and Devil” VR Immersive Experience Center at Galaxy Macau

The vibrant city of Macau has taken a significant leap into the immersive entertainment world with the opening of the “Love Between Fairy and Devil” VR Immersive Experience Center at Galaxy Macau. This innovative project is a collaboration between iQIYI’s Dream Verse Studio and Galaxy Entertainment Group (GEG) and is inspired by the popular IP work “Love Between Fairy and Devil.”

Grand Opening Ceremony

The grand opening event, held on August 9, 2024, at the Galaxy International Convention Center (GICC), was attended by numerous notable guests and media representatives. Among the distinguished attendees were Mr. Cheng Wai Tong, Acting Director of the Macao Government Tourism Office, and Mr. Cheang Kai Meng, Vice President of the Cultural Affairs Bureau of the Macao SAR Government. Esther Yu, the female lead of “Love Between Fairy and Devil,” made a surprise appearance to support the launch.

During the event, Kevin Kelley, Chief Operating Officer–Macau of Galaxy Entertainment Group, emphasized the importance of this endeavor. “The establishment of the ‘Love Between Fairy and Devil’ VR Experience Center at Galaxy Macau is not only a technological innovation but also a significant initiative to introduce global visitors to traditional Chinese culture,” Kelley stated.

An Immersive Journey

The new VR Immersive Experience Center, spanning over 16,000 square feet, offers a mix of advanced VR technology and traditional Chinese art styles. It is divided into five main sections, providing a wide range of experiences, including a Hanfu costume area, immersive shows, VR experiences, themed food stalls, and retail booths.

Exciting Features for Visitors

Visitors can indulge in the Hanfu Experience, which offers 220 stunning costumes, along with professional makeup and hairstyling services, allowing them to delve into the elegance and history of ancient China. Guests can capture magical moments and take stunning photos, feeling as if they have stepped into a scene from the drama.

The Immersive Show features real-life non-player characters (NPC) guiding players through a storyline where they solve mysteries and unlock mechanisms. Eventually, players enter the VR Experience area, transforming into characters from the drama and embarking on thrilling adventures with cutting-edge VR equipment. The experience is enhanced by sensor devices that simulate touch, wind, ice, heat, and weightlessness.

More Events Planned

Galaxy Macau has announced that more traditional Chinese-themed events are planned, especially during upcoming festivals such as the Qixi Festival and Mid-Autumn Festival. These events aim to blend ancient charm with modern innovation, enriching visitors’ experiences.

The collaboration between Galaxy Macau and iQIYI highlights significant breakthroughs in technology and cultural promotion. Every detail in the Experience Center incorporates elements of traditional Chinese style, reflecting a deep respect for Chinese culture.

Operating Details

The “Love Between Fairy and Devil” VR Immersive Experience Center operates from 10:00 am to 11:00 pm. The Hanfu Experience is available from 10:30 am to 8:00 pm, with professional makeup and hairstyling services from 11:00 am to 8:00 pm. VR Experience admission costs MOP 238 from Monday to Friday and MOP 298 on weekends.
