August 30, 2024 – In a push to provide comprehensive early childhood education, GLEAMNS Human Resources Commission, Inc. has announced that it is currently enrolling children for its Head Start and Early Head Start programs. These programs are available to families in Greenwood, Laurens, Edgefield, Abbeville, McCormick, Newberry, Saluda, Richland, and Lexington counties.

GLEAMNS is focused on offering quality education to children from birth to five years old at no cost to families. The Head Start programs aim to lay a solid foundation for lifelong learning. We believe every child deserves access to quality education, opportunities, and nutritious meals, regardless of their family’s financial situation.”

These programs do more than just provide early education. They include a variety of services such as parenting education, health screenings, and assistance with accessing community resources to enhance overall family well-being. In addition, GLEAMNS offers free nutritious meals and engaging learning activities tailored to young children’s developmental needs.

Dr. Elaine Kennedy, Head Start Director, highlighted the community aspect of the program: “Head Start is not just about education; it’s also about building strong families and communities. We’re here to partner with parents and provide resources that equip them to nurture their children’s potential.”
