Incidents in Greenwood: An Arrest Shakes Up the Town

In a surprising development, Allen Terry Cogdill, a 34-year-old resident of 307 Lowell Ave., Greenwood, was apprehended by local authorities. This arrest, which unfolded on November 2, has sparked much conversation across the community.

According to police reports, officers on duty near Main Street caught sight of a familiar man at the intersection of Walker Avenue. Upon investigation, it was confirmed that this individual had two active warrants against him—one for high-aggravated domestic violence and another for violating a permanent restraining order. The officers swiftly took action, conducting a search which unveiled a stash of substances including 2.6 grams of methamphetamine, 0.3 grams of marijuana, fentanyl pills, and 40 milliliters of methadone hidden in a prescription bottle.

The situation took a dramatic turn upon reaching the detention center. A quick-thinking jail nurse discovered that Mr. Cogdill had attempted to consume approximately 1 gram of methamphetamine before his detainment. This raised immediate concerns for his health, leading to his transfer to Self Regional Medical Center. After thorough examinations, he was medically cleared.
