Bateman is one of eight standout young leaders being honored this year.
Since stepping into the Economic Development Director role in August 2020, James Bateman has showcased unparalleled leadership and dedication to propelling Greenwood County’s economic future. His strategic vision has fostered remarkable growth despite navigating through the complexities of a global pandemic and fierce competition in industrial recruitment. Under Bateman’s guidance, Greenwood County has seen over $953 million in capital investments and the creation of 742 new jobs, solidifying its status as a formidable player in industrial site location.
