Greenwood County – Excitement is brewing in Greenwood County as J&P Park Inc. plans to expand its operations. The company, known for its range of gardening and hobby-based products, is investing $750,000 into the local economy. This expansion is expected to create 50 new jobs, providing a significant boost for the community.
“We are incredibly excited to expand our operations in Greenwood County, a community that has been the heart of our company for nearly a century,” said J&P Park President and CEO Kelly Funk in a news release. “This investment reflects our deep commitment to this region and our belief in its potential for continued growth. We look forward to creating new opportunities for local residents and continuing to be a proud part of Greenwood County’s future.”
Part of this expansion involves the relocation of Northern Brewer, a homebrewing company recently purchased from Minnesota, to J&P Park’s main campus at 3507 Cokesbury Road in Hodges. This move underscores the company’s ongoing growth and its ability to integrate new business acquisitions from other parts of the country.
“With an investment that will create 50 new jobs, J&P Park continues to make an impact on the Greenwood County community,” noted Governor Henry McMaster. “We are proud to see a company with such a longstanding history in our state continue to find success, and we look forward to a lasting partnership.”
Greenwood County Council Chairman Chuck Moates echoed these sentiments, praising the company’s dedication and contributions to the local economy. “J&P Park’s growth is a testament to the enduring strength of our local economy and the skilled workforce here in Greenwood County,” he said. “With a century of history in Greenwood, J&P Park is truly a cornerstone of our community and one that continues to relocate business acquisitions to its Hodges campus from other parts of the country. This expansion, creating 50 new jobs, not only highlights their deep roots but also reinforces our shared commitment to building a thriving future together.”
The 15,000-square-foot expansion will primarily focus on increasing inventory storage, which is crucial for picking, packing, and fulfilling e-commerce orders for Northern Brewer’s homebrewing products. Operations for the recently relocated company are already online in Greenwood County and expected to be fully operational soon.
As this exciting development unfolds, residents can expect partly cloudy skies this morning, with a few showers possibly developing during the afternoon. The high will reach 79°F, with winds from the ENE at 5 to 10 mph and a 30% chance of rain. Tonight, the skies will shift to being cloudy with occasional rain showers. The low is expected to be around 62°F, with light and variable winds and a 50% chance of rain.
J&P Park’s investment not only celebrates its long-standing roots in Greenwood County but also lays a foundation for future growth and prosperity for the region. As Kelly Funk and the local leaders have emphasized, the company’s deep commitment to Greenwood is expected to bring lasting benefits to the community.
Residents are encouraged to stay tuned for further updates on this exciting development and for any additional opportunities that may arise from J&P Park’s expansion.
