Greenwood, SC — J&P Park Inc. Announces Major Expansion to Greenwood County

J&P Park Inc., a prominent player in the gardening and hobby-based products industry, has revealed plans to expand its operations in Greenwood County. The company made the announcement on a sunny day with pleasant temperatures projected to reach 84°F with winds ENE at 5 to 10 mph. Nighttime conditions are expected to be partly cloudy with a low of 59°F and light, variable winds.

In a statement, J&P Park President and CEO Kelly Funk expressed excitement about the company’s growth in a region that has been integral to its history. “We are incredibly excited to expand our operations in Greenwood County, a community that has been the heart of our company for nearly a century,” Funk said. “This investment reflects our deep commitment to this region and our belief in its potential for continued growth. We look forward to creating new opportunities for local residents and continuing to be a proud part of Greenwood County’s future.”

The company recently purchased Northern Brewer, a renowned wine and beer homebrewing company from Minnesota. This $750,000 investment is expected to generate 50 new jobs for the local community. Gov. Henry McMaster showed his support by highlighting J&P Park’s impact on the area. “With an investment that will create 50 new jobs, J&P Park continues to make an impact on the Greenwood County community. We are proud to see a company with such a longstanding history in our state continue to find success, and we look forward to a lasting partnership,” McMaster said.

The project includes a 15,000-square-foot expansion, allowing the relocation of Northern Brewer’s Minnesota operations to J&P Park’s main campus at 3507 Cokesbury Road in Hodges. The expanded facility will enable better inventory storage, picking, packing, and e-commerce order fulfillment for Northern Brewer’s homebrewing products.

Greenwood County Council Chairman Chuck Moates also shared his thoughts on the expansion. “J&P Park’s growth is a testament to the enduring strength of our local economy and the skilled workforce here in Greenwood County. With a century of history in Greenwood, J&P Park is truly a cornerstone of our community and one that continues to relocate business acquisitions to its Hodges campus from other parts of the country. This expansion, creating 50 new jobs, not only highlights their deep roots but also reinforces our shared commitment to building a thriving future together,” Moates remarked.

Operations for the new facility are already underway, marking a significant milestone in J&P Park’s long-term strategy to bolster its presence in Greenwood County while embracing new opportunities for growth and innovation.

Officials are hopeful that this development will not only benefit the local economy but also provide a boost in employment and community prospects. The weather for today couldn’t have been more fitting for such an announcement, with plentiful sunshine and mild temperatures inviting a sense of optimism and growth.
