Greenwood County Boosted by New Modular Home Production Plant Creating 180 Jobs

Greenwood Welcomes New Modular Home Production Plant, Bringing 180 Jobs to the Community

GREENWOOD, SC – Exciting times are ahead for Greenwood County! Impresa Building Systems of Greenwood SC LLC has announced ambitious plans to set up a $9 million modular construction facility that promises to generate 180 jobs for the local community. This move is expected to bring a wave of opportunities and growth to the region.

The new facility will be located at 161 Rock Church Road S.E. in Greenwood and will span an impressive 240,000 square feet. The plant will focus on producing private-label residential homes, catering to regional builders and developers throughout the Southeast. This strategic expansion aims to ramp up the company’s operating capacity to meet the growing demand for their modular homes.

We are so excited to locate our flagship factory in Greenwood,” said Dan Hobbs, President and General Manager of Impresa Building Systems of Greenwood SC LLC. “The facility will be a combination of process-proven off-site modular construction practices with today’s cutting-edge methods to be an industry leader. As always, workforce is key, and we are driving to assemble top talent in all disciplines.”

The modular home plant is expected to start operations by January next year and aims to reach full production capacity by July. Once up and running, the facility will be capable of producing more than 300 homes per year, a significant contribution to the regional housing market.

Community Impact and Support

Greenwood County officials are thrilled about the new development. “Greenwood County is proud to become the home of the first Impresa branded factory that will serve the region with much-needed housing solutions,” said Chuck Moates, Greenwood County Council Chairman. “We look forward to supporting their launch and creation of many jobs that will make a lasting impact in our community.”

To support the project, the Coordinating Council for Economic Development has approved job development credits related to this venture. Additionally, Greenwood County has been awarded a $200,000 Set-Aside grant to assist with related project costs. This financial backing underscores the importance and potential impact of the project on the local economy.

Industry Innovation and Growth

Impresa Building Systems is an affiliate of Impresa Modular, a well-known name in residential home design, sales, and development. By leveraging both traditional modular construction techniques and innovative new methods, the Greenwood facility aims to set new industry benchmarks. Furthermore, the company is collaborating with Signature Building Systems, adding to its credibility and potential for success.

This development comes at a crucial time, as the demand for affordable and efficient housing solutions continues to rise. Modular homes offer a viable alternative to traditional construction methods, often providing faster build times and cost savings without compromising quality. The Greenwood facility’s launch couldn’t be more timely.

Looking Ahead

As the countdown to the plant’s opening begins, anticipation is building within the community. Job seekers are eager to explore opportunities with the new facility, while local businesses are optimistic about the economic ripple effects. The new plant is set to become a key player in the regional housing market, providing a blend of innovation, quality, and affordability.

Stay tuned for more updates as Impresa Building Systems of Greenwood SC LLC moves forward with this groundbreaking venture. It’s not just a win for Greenwood; it’s a milestone for the modular housing industry in the Southeast.
