Heading into the Festivities: County Schedule Adjustments

As always, the county offices and services are set to adjust their schedules to accommodate the holiday celebrations. Let’s dive into what’s open and closed so you can plan your days seamlessly:

Tuesday, December 24

The county offices will operate their usual hours, opening at 7:45 a.m. and closing at 5:30 p.m. If you need to visit the landfill, you’re in luck as it’s open from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. However, if you rely on convenience centers for waste disposal, note that they will remain closed, with the exception of the Siloam Road Convenience Center, which will welcome visitors from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. For those using curbside recycling services, operations will continue on the normal schedule.

Wednesday, December 25

Christmas Day brings a pause to the bustle of everyday life in Greenwood County. Both the county offices and landfill will close, allowing staff to enjoy a well-deserved holiday. Additionally, convenience centers will shutter for the day. For those expecting curbside recycle pickup, remember that it has been shifted back to Tuesday, December 24.

Thursday, December 26

The holiday break continues with county offices remaining closed. However, operations resume at the landfill from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Many convenience centers will also reopen from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m., with the notable exceptions of Mays Cross Roads and Cedar Springs, which will remain closed. If you missed your curbside recycling pickup, fear not! It’s rescheduled for Friday, December 27.

Kicking off the New Year, both county offices and the landfill will close their doors in observance. All convenience centers will be closed as well, with curbside recycling pickup postponed until Thursday, January 2.
