SC Festival of Discovery

The 23rd Annual South Carolina Festival of Discovery will take place in Greenwood, South Carolina from July 11–13, 2024The festival is sponsored by the Uptown Greenwood Development Corporation and is considered the region’s most anticipated event. 

The festival features a “Blues Cruise” that takes participants to various venues in Uptown Greenwood to experience Southern music.

Hodges OUTDOOR Spring Festival

The Hodges Outdoor Spring Festival will take place on Friday, April 26, 2024 from 4 PM–Saturday, April 27, 2024 at 9 PMThe festival is hosted by the Hodges-Cokesbury Fire Department at Greenwood County Station 40, located at 4410 Main Street. The event will feature music, food, and family fun. 

The Earth Into Art Sale 2024

The Earth Into Art Sale 2024 will be held at The Arts Center of Greenwood in Greenwood, South Carolina on Saturday, April 20, 2024 at 9 AM–2 PM EDTThe event is free and open to the public.

The sale features over 35 artists from local art guilds selling a variety of handmade items, including: Basketry, Pottery, Woodwork, Paintings, Prints. 

The event also includes:

  • Live demonstrations
  • Open artist studios
  • Food truck fare
  • Activities for the whole family 

The Arts Center of Greenwood partners with local art guilds and the Greenwood Area Studio Potters (GASP) to host the annual event.

Spring Craft Show

Located at 1753 Ebenezer Rd, Smyrna, SC 29743, this event will feature more than 50 local vendors and food trucks. 

Catfish Feastival

The Catfish Feastival is a four-day event held annually in Ware Shoals, South Carolina during Memorial Day weekend.

 The 2024 festival will take place from May 23–25 at Katherine Hall.

The festival features free admission, live entertainment, and a variety of food, including fried catfish, catfish stew, and traditional fair food. Some say the catfish is the best, and others praise the food, atmosphere, and carnival. 

The festival began in 1981 to harvest catfish from the shallows during the annual draining of the Riegel Textile Company pool and dam site. 

The festival is family-friendly, with no pets allowed except for service animals. Alcohol may be sold at a designated area, but no other outside alcohol is permitted. The festival also has a wheelchair accessible entrance, parking lot, and restroom.
