Greenwood County Achieves Financial Reporting Excellence for 33rd Consecutive Year
Greenwood — Greenwood County has once again demonstrated its commitment to top-notch financial management by earning the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting from the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada (GFOA) for the 33rd year in a row.
The Certificate of Achievement is considered the highest form of recognition in government accounting and financial reporting. To receive this accolade, the county’s annual comprehensive financial report (ACFR) undergoes an extensive evaluation by an impartial panel of experts. They ensure the report upholds a “spirit of full disclosure” and effectively communicates the county’s financial story.
Greenwood County’s continuous success in receiving this award underscores its unwavering commitment to maintaining high financial standards year after year. According to Greenwood County Treasurer Steffanie Dorn, this achievement marks a significant milestone. “Receiving the Certificate of Achievement for the 33rd consecutive year is a remarkable milestone for Greenwood County,” she stated. “This achievement reflects the tireless efforts of our financial team over the years to maintain the highest standards of transparency and accountability. We are committed to managing the county’s finances with integrity and serving our community with excellence.”
