Greenwood Hosts Exciting Line-Up of Events This Week

Greenwood, SC – This week is packed with an array of exciting events for the residents and visitors in Greenwood. From live music performances to fundraising activities and art exhibits, there’s something for everyone to enjoy.

Live Music Galore

The South Carolina-based singer-songwriter duo of Admiral Radio will be performing at Good Times Brewing this Friday. Coty Hoover and Becca Smith, who have previously shared the stage with critically acclaimed music acts, will bring their original roots music to Greenwood. They made their debut at the Abbeville Opera House in February and are expected to give an unforgettable performance.

Here’s a look at the weekly live music schedule:

  • Wednesday: TW Boons hosts an open mic night at 8 p.m.
  • Thursday: Hodges Elementary School hosts its next Honey Jam fundraiser at 6 p.m. Performers include Tracie and Byron, Becky Greene, and Brian Pinson. Ashby Stokes plays Montague’s Restaurant at 6 p.m., and Howard’s on Main hosts Freddie McClendon with Granger Smith, Nic Massey, and Will Thompson at 7 p.m.
  • Friday: Jake Bartley and Kile Antone play at Howard’s on Main at 6 p.m. Jamie Owens performs at Fish Bonz on Lake Greenwood at 6 p.m. and Matt Phillips hits Flynn’s on Maxwell at 6:30 p.m. Admiral Radio takes the stage at Good Times Brewing at 7 p.m.
  • Saturday: Becky Greene performs at South Bend Winery at 4 p.m., Madison Medlin at Indigenous Underground in Abbeville at 5 p.m., and Soul Shine at Fish Bonz on Lake Greenwood at 6 p.m.

Fundraising Events for Worthy Causes

This weekend also features fundraising events aimed at supporting good causes. On Saturday, the Boaters for a Cause event on Lake Greenwood starts at 10 a.m. The boating fundraiser benefits the Burton Center for Disabilities and Special Needs.

The 10th Annual Greater Greenwood United Ministry Music for Ministry will be held at NewSpring Church in Greenwood starting at 5 p.m. This event offers three hours of live entertainment, with ticket prices increasing to $30 on the day of the event. Those interested can purchase tickets on eventbrite.com or in person at Greater Greenwood United Ministry.

Art Exhibitions and More

This weekend marks the last chance to see Gene Shirley’s retrospective art exhibit, “Movement in Color,” at the Arts Center of Greenwood. This exhibit features large-scale abstract expressionist works. Nearby, The Museum of Greenwood continues to showcase exhibits on the Greenwood Genetic Center and a traveling Smithsonian exhibit, “Spark! Places of Innovation.”

Good Times Brewing has planned a trivia night on Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. and will also host a collaboration with Paint and Pour of the Arts Center of Greenwood on Thursday at 6:30 p.m. Tickets for the instructional painting session are $35 and can be purchased at Good Times.

Opening of The Bakery on Main

The highly anticipated Bakery on Main opens its doors in Greenwood at 10 a.m., 324 Main St. suite B. This bakery, known for its sweet and savory breads and treats, recently relocated from Abbeville to Uptown Greenwood.

Weather Forecast

The weather for the coming days is predicted to be a mix of clouds and sun with high temperatures around 86°F and lows around 68°F. Winds are expected to be light and variable.
