A Greenwood County Domestic Dispute Escalates to Arrest for Drug Offenses

In Greenwood County, a standard response to a domestic dispute call transformed to a major drug bust. Officers were summoned to 213 Wheatfield Drive on Tuesday, and instead of a simple dispute, they stumbled upon an illegal operation involving an array of narcotics.

Officers Discover Vast Quantity of Drugs

According to the report, responding deputies discovered 65 multicolored pills that tested positive for fentanyl. In addition, officers seized 417.19 grams of marijuana, 17 bindles of an off-white powder substance weighing 1.53 grams that field-tested presumptive for heroin, and a white powdery substance that tested presumptive for cocaine.

Arrest and Charges

Sha Shanta Alexia Andrews, 30, and Lorenzo Martray Lattimore, 39, residents of the implicated residence at 213 Wheatfield Drive in Greenwood, found themselves on the receiving end of the full weight of the law. They were arrested and later charged with trafficking fentanyl, possession of illegal drugs, and possession of a weapon during a violent crime.

A Torrential Storm Not a Deterrent

The day’s severe weather, a mix of clouds and sun interspersed with scattered thunderstorms, with winds SE at 5 to 10 mph, did not deter the deputies from carrying out their duties. With a high of 86F and a 90% chance of rain, the officers remained steadfast in their pursuit of justice. After the thunderstorms, some with heavy rain, occasional showers persisted overnight, with the temperature dropping to a low of 72F. Yet, the winds remained light and variable, with a 70% chance of rain prevalent overnight, presenting a fitting backdrop for the dramatic events that unfolded.

Community and Official Response

The Greenwood Community and its officials, striving for a crime-free neighborhood, have congratulated the diligent officers for their prompt action. Their intervention has prevented the further distribution of these harmful substances, proving their commitment to safeguarding their community against the drug menace.

The investigations are ongoing, but the message to the public is clear: the combined effort of the community and the officials will leave no stone unturned in their tireless fight against crime.

Meanwhile, Lorenzo Martray Lattimore and Sha Shanta Alexia Andrews await their court date, offering a grim reminder of the severe consequences of drug trafficking and possession.
